As technology continues to evolve so does our use of it. When the lights go down, people are transported as the story and experience unfold. Worlds of reality can pop off the set and onto the stage, as performers interact with technology or guests engage with interfaces to become part of the show.

From tried and true technologies that evolved such as lighting efx, 3D scenic projection mapping, LED screen automation, interactivity with projections, props and LED costumes, increased server capabilities to the world of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) - these different types of technologies can be integrated into a live show production elevating the overall experience. Using these technologies, we can transport the guest into another world, allow them to interact with the unknown or create a performance canvas that is ever-changing and full of surprise.

Through various case studies, participants will learn how the tried and true technologies, such as scenic design and 3D projection mapping, and the newer technologies of VR and AR are evolving the guest experience. We will examine the different platforms, compare their strengths and weaknesses and explore the design principles in creating a successful live show experience.
