Lesley Warrick, Executive Director, Seafarers’ House
Lesley Warrick has served as Executive Director of Seafarers’ House at Port Evergladessince April 2006. Before coming to Seafarers’ House, she was Director of Public Relations for Family Central in North Lauderdale, Fla., where she was responsible for key organizational communications for the largest social service agency in South Florida with an annual budget of $90 million.
Under her stewardship, Seafarers’ House has been honored numerous times. In 2015, Ms.Warrick was honored as Seafarer Advocate of the Year during Lloyd’s List North American Maritime Awards. The award recognizes individuals, organizations or groups that have delivered benchmark services or had other occasions to safeguard and promote the welfare of mariners in North American waters. In that same year, Ms. Warrick received LeadershipBroward Foundation’s Special Recognition Award. The award recognizes the achievementsof those who have distinguished themselves as leaders in their industry and who have used their leadership to enrich the community.
In 2014, Seafarers’ House received a Salute to Business Award from the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. The award recognizes outstanding businesses that make a positive impact on the community. In 2012, Seafarers’ House received the International Committee on Seafarers’ Welfare Award for Seafarer Center of the Year. The award recognizes excellence in the provision of welfare services and facilities for seafarers.
Before coming to South Florida, Ms. Warrick served for 12 years as Vice President of Sagamore Associates, the Washington, D.C. government relations consulting arm of the Indiana-based law firm Baker & Daniels.
Ms. Warrick earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from University College, University of Maryland and a bachelor’s degree in English & Economics from Smith College.
