Carl-Gustaf Rotkirch, M.Sc. (Nav.Arch), Senior Executive Consultant, Owner, CGR Marine Consulting

Carl-Gustaf (Calle) Rotkirch, a 42-year maritime industry veteran, works as a marine consultant, and holds positions as member of the boards of I.S. Mäkinen Oy and Dekotel Coatings Oy, both in Finland. Previously, he was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Grand Bahama Shipyard, Ltd., from August 1, 2008 until his retirement in June 2015. In this capacity, Rotkirch did oversee all operations of the shipyard, which is one of the largest cruise ship repair facilities in the world; Grand Bahama Shipyard services more than 100 cruise ships, cargo vessels, tankers, off shore structures, naval vessels and yachts annually. Prior to assuming his position at Grand Bahama Shipyard, Rotkirch was employed at STX Europe in Finland (previously Aker Yards BA Cruise and Ferries and now Meyer Werft Turku) where he served in a number of executive positions, including vice president of sales. He previously was with Kvaerner Masa Yards in Helsinki for 16 years in various shipbuilding capacities, including Project Manager for the Costa Atlantica/Carnival Spirit cruise ship series. His maritime industry experience also includes 13 years at the Wartsila Helsinki Shipyard and a position as the Managing Director of Porsgrunn VVS A/S in Norway. A native of Finland, Rotkirch holds a master's degree in naval architecture from the Helsinki University of Technology (now the Aalto University).
