Kim Petersen, President, Security Dynamics

Kim E. Petersen has over 30 years of experience in domestic and international security, intelligence, and anti-terrorism activities. CNN calls Kim, "one of the leading counterterrorism experts in the world." His career has included senior staff positions at The White House, and with former US Secretaries of State Dr. Henry A. Kissinger and Gen. Alexander M. Haig. Kim has also served as a senior staff member at the US Senate and the Pentagon in the areas of national security and intelligence, and is a former Captain in the Army's Special Forces. With a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from VCU, he attended the Harvard Business School and the University of Oxford where he graduated with Honors and was class valedictorian. Kim is the former Director and Chief of Security Operations for Princess & P&O Cruises and Renaissance Cruise Line, as well as having been the Senior Adjunct Instructor in Ship & Seaport Counterterrorism at the US Federal Law Enforcement Training Center for almost ten years. He was a Visiting Professor at the United Nation's World Maritime University, and has been featured on '60 Minutes'; '20/20'; CBS, NBC, and ABC news; BBC; National Public Radio; 'The History Channel,' and is a frequent subject expert on CNN, Fox News, China News, New Asia, and Al Jazeera America. Today, Kim is the Chairman of Security Dynamics LLC, a global security and counterterrorism consultancy that specializes in maritime and intermodal security, and he serves as the Governor Emeritus at the Maritime Security Council. He has performed seaport and ship threat and vulnerability assessments in over 90 countries.
