Mr. Jay Lewis is the President and founder of Market Scope, Inc. and the Executive Director of the Passenger & Shipping Institute, Miami Based Marketing Research and Strategic Planning firms,. He specializes in management consultation, marketing research and strategic planning for the maritime transportation industry. Mr. Lewis is a recognized expert in the maritime transportation industry. In 2002, he authored the comprehensive "Guide to Marketing Research for Marine Transportation Services", which was published by the Maritime Administration Department of the U.S. Department of Transportation. He has authored comprehensive articles on the status of the North American Cruise Industry and its potential for the future for the Economist and the Cruise Industry News annual book on the North American cruise industry. Annual contributions along similar lines have followed to a host of travel journals. Mr. Lewis has studied all aspects of the maritime transportation industry from distribution through to product performance. He has performed exhaustive studies of the tourism potential for various countries in Asia, the Americas and Europe. These studies included several worldwide itineraries studies, advertising and consumer research, and the development of passenger information systems. Mr. Lewis is a regular contributor to tourism, travel and business publications. His commentary and input has appeared in The Economist (UK), Fortune, Forbes, Travel Weekly, Tour and Travel News, Adweek and Cruise Industry News. Lewis is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Economics (with distinction) and holds a Masters of Business Administration in Quantitative Analysis from the University Of Miami (with honors). He was adjunct Professor of Marketing at the University of Miami for five years
