Vice President for Development and Operations,
David Candib is Vice President, Development & Operations for the Global Port and
Destination Development Group at Carnival Corporation & Plc covering the Americas,
Caribbean and Mexico regions and joined the company in 2002.
David is responsible for oversight of all Miami-based corporate port operations, areas of
new port development and the corporation's port reservations system which covers 16
ports where the company has retained preferential berthing rights or directly operates. The
operating ports include Amber Cove, Dominican Republic, Puerta
Maya (Cozumel), Grand Turk Cruise Center (Turks & Caicos Islands) and Mahogany
Bay (Roatan, Honduras) which together welcome nearly 4m passengers annually.
Additionally, David is engaged with various governments in the region working alongside
Carnival's 9 global cruise brands in the review and evaluation of both port and infrastructure
David also manages the company's relationship and active agreements with the New
York City Economic Development Corporation (Manhattan & Brooklyn Ports), Port
Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale, Puerto Rico Ports Authority (San Juan) and the St. Maarten Government.
David led the company's efforts in the development of the Mystic Mountain Bobsled
Jamaica attraction in Ocho Rios which is considered to be one of the top attractions in the
Region as well as the newly opened Rain Forest Adventures attraction in St. Maarten.
David is a featured panelist and speaker at many industry events along with authoring
articles for various publications.
He earned a BBA in Finance from Emory University's
Goizueta Business School with a minor in Economics and an MBA in Finance/International Finance from the University of Miami.
